AMS is a technical consulting firm established in 1977 in the state of Tennessee. The company’s expertise is in the development of equipment, training, and services for performance testing of process instrumentation in nuclear power plants.
For over 30 years, AMS has been the leading supplier of equipment, training, and services for in-situ response time testing and on-line calibration of temperature and pressure instrumentation in nuclear power plants. AMS also provides automated equipment for predictive maintenance and performance testing of a variety of components and systems in operating processes.

AMS is staffed by a group of highly-qualified specialists and consultants with B.S. to Ph.D. degrees in electrical, mechanical, chemical, computer, and nuclear engineering. AMS research facilities include a precision calibration laboratory, a temperature sensor response-time testing facility, pressure sensor response-time testing equipment, a software development division, a machine shop, an equipment manufacturing and repair facility, and a technical library. AMS has extensive computing capabilities, data acquisition systems, advanced software packages, digital oscilloscopes, hydraulic and pneumatic test loops, a complete set of nuclear power plant instrumentation cabinets, and comprehensive networking. AMS also has ready access to the facilities of the nearby University of Tennessee (UT) and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
AMS has a strong Quality Assurance (QA) program that is designed to comply with federal regulations under 10CFR50 Appendix B. Also, AMS has calibration standards that are directly traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Washington, D.C. The AMS QA program has been audited with successful results by the Nuclear Procurement Issues Committee (NUPIC), which serves the nuclear power industry.
